Steventon Road Nurseries (John Graham)

We are three small specialist nurseries specializing primarily in growing good garden-worthy perennial plants. We all propagate and grow the majority of our plant material and offer an eclectic range to stimulate and excite interested gardeners. The variety of plants on offer complement the specimens seen in the gardens at Bury Court.

We are all available for lectures on various gardening subjects. Please enquire by contacting the nurseries.

A number of practical and theoretical courses are run by Phoenix Perennial Plants. Marina Christopher has written ’Late Summer Flowers’ published by Frances Lincoln in 2006. She also writes various articles for Gardens Illustrated and some of the gardening press. Marina is a RHS Floral Trials judge.

Mark and Elaine Trenear hold one of the National Plant Collections of Dianthus (Old fashioned Pinks). Mark Trenear has written and published The National Plant Collection booklet on Dianthus in 2001 and is a RHS Trials Judge for Border Carnations and Pinks.

John Graham’s first career involved researching the affect of tillage methods on the growth of field crops; this got him into close contact with soil conditions and their affect on plant growth. Now a nurseryman and trained garden designer he has a strong interest in growing plants in the right place in the best conditions.

For more details of all the nurseries please contact them or check their websites.
